Despite a challenging environment for software stocks in 2026, which has seen ServiceNow shed nearly a quarter of its value this year, a prominent bullish call has emerged. While broader market sentiment questions the rapid monetization of artificial intelligence, analysts at BNP Paribas have broken from the pack. They view the recent sharp share price decline as an exaggerated overreaction and identify the company's AI investments as a tangible, near-term revenue catalyst.
Financial Resilience and an Upgraded Rating
BNP Paribas analyst Stefan Slowinski upgraded ServiceNow's stock from "Neutral" to "Outperform" on Monday, simultaneously raising the price target to $140 from $120. Slowinski's research indicates the software firm currently meets three critical investment criteria: a stable core business, credible progress in monetizing AI, and robust profit margins coupled with controlled stock-based compensation.
Trading at approximately $114, the current share price represents a significant discount to the 52-week high above $211. According to BNP Paribas, this sell-off is fundamentally unjustified. The company's financial health is underscored by an Altman Z-Score of 6.54, signaling high stability with no acute balance sheet risks. Furthermore, an average revenue growth rate exceeding 21% over the past three years demonstrates operational strength, even in the face of economic headwinds.
The Catalyst: Premium AI Tier Migration
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying ServiceNow?
Central to the optimistic assessment is ServiceNow's tier migration model. As enterprise customers deepen their AI integration, they are increasingly upgrading to more expensive service tiers, such as "Pro Plus." Slowinski projects these migrations could drive organic subscription revenue growth to around 20% by the end of fiscal 2026—slightly above the guidance provided by management in the first quarter.
Early operational successes support this thesis. A new AI specialist for IT helpdesks, slated for general release in Q2 2026, is already resolving 90% of employee inquiries in early testing while drastically cutting resolution times. ServiceNow leverages a global network of over 2,700 partners to distribute this AI platform widely, a strategy aimed at increasing the average contract value of existing customers.
Upcoming Quarterly Report as Key Test
The next major validation point for this growth narrative is imminent. ServiceNow is scheduled to report its first-quarter results on April 29, 2026. For the full year, management has targeted subscription revenues between $15.53 billion and $15.57 billion, alongside an operating margin of 32% and a strong free cash flow margin of 36%. This upcoming earnings release will need to provide concrete evidence that accelerating adoption of premium AI tiers is effectively bridging the gap to meet elevated analyst expectations.
