Ericsson macht jetzt in Datenbanken ????????, 27.11. 08:48 Ericsson - neuer Konkurrent von Oracle und IBM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Der schwedische Hersteller von Telekommunikations-Equipment Ericsson gab am Freitag bekannt, daß man ein Produkt entwickelt hat, welches im Bereich Datenbanken angesiedelt ist. Die neue Datenbank, die als Konkurrenzprodukt zu den Lösungen von Oracle und IBM auftreten soll, wird vermutlich im ersten Quartal 2001 der Öffentlichkeit vorgestellt werden. Die erste Version der neuen Datenbanklösung soll rund 100 Mio. Transaktionen pro Sekunde verarbeiten können - die Folgeversionen sollen dann noch einmal bis zu einhundert mal schneller sein. Laut Tore Risch, Professor an der Universität von Uppsala, sei die neue Datenbanklösung von Ericsson , die auf der neuen Primary Memory-Datenbank-Technologie von Ericsson aufbaut - rund zehn mal schneller als die derzeit auf dem Markt befindlichen Datenban [mehr]

11.Aug 2000: PCCW und Data Access wollen Service in Indien starten, Quelle: www.asiainternet.de PCCW und Data Access wollen in den nächsten sechs Wochen ihren Internet Service in Indien starten. PCCW hält 49 % von Data Access, die im März eine indienweite Internet-Service-Lizenz für 40 Mill US-$ erwarben. Die umfassenden Service-Dienstleistungen sollen in 140 Städten angeboten werden. Nach Meinung von Credit Lyonnais sollen sich in den nächsten 4 Jahren die Internetnutzer in Indien bis auf 30 Mill verelffachen. [mehr]

However, the hearing was postponed by the Court to August 1, 2000, seven days after the scheduled date.
