Warum es heute 14% gefallen ist, Hino Motors Ltd.'s shares fell sharply in Tokyo on Friday afternoon following a report that the truck maker had submitted inappropriate emissions data to the Japanese government.

Japan's public broadcaster NHK reported Friday morning that Hino, a unit of Toyota Motor Corp., submitted inappropriate data to receive certificates for production, and that some of its engines may not have met the standards required by law.

A Hino spokeswoman said a news conference is scheduled at 0700 GMT, or 4 p.m. Japan Standard Time, Friday. She declined to comment on the report.

Hino shares were recently down 17% at Y868 after falling as much as 24% earlier.

Japanese auto stocks were broadly lower as uncertainty persists over the war in Ukraine and its effect on the global economy.

Toyota Motor shares were down 3.7%, Nissan Motor Co. shares were 5.4% lower and Honda Motor Co. shares were down 4.6%. [<a href="http://www.aktiencheck.de/forum/HINO_Motors_Hat_Hybrid_Weltweit_auch_eine_Zukunft-853852-t569536">mehr</a>]
