Eurozone Construction Output Falls In August
BRUSSELS (dpa-AFX) - Eurozone construction output declined for the first time in five months in August, Eurostat reported Wednesday.
Construction output contracted 0.9 percent month-over-month in August, reversing a 1.5 percent gain in the previous month.
Production in building dropped 1.0 percent over the month and those in the civil engineering sphere by 0.7 percent.
On an annual basis, construction output grew at a weaker pace of 0.9 percent in August, following a 4.1 percent increase in July.
In the EU28, construction production declined 1.3 percent monthly and by 0.5 percent yearly in August.
